Questions & How-to
about Vinyl Decking

How often should you
replace your decking?

Colours and trends constantly change, but a beautiful outdoor living space is always in style.

Q: How often will I need to change or update my Vinyl Decking?

Your DEC-K-ING vinyl sundeck will last you 15 years, or longer. A good vinyl membrane will not harden, crack, leak or rot. The biggest issue a DEC-K-ING customer will encounter is the inevitable fading of the original color or print. See here for tips on which colours fade the slowest.

We continuously encounter customers with decks that are 20 years or older that are still an effective waterproof barrier. The most common reason our customers replace their DEC-K-ING sundecks and rooftop patios, is to update to a more modern colour or print.

Best of all when it’s time for a new look, any of our vinyl membranes can be installed directly over the old vinyl. No need to tear up the existing deck thus saving you time and money.
